박현진과 장우주는 두 사람, 두 사람의 공유된 일상, 그리고 일상에서 파생되는 가사노동을 엮는다.
우리나라에서 날짜를 새겨 기념품으로 자주 사용되는 수건은 우리 각자의 일상에서 파생되는 주요한 날짜를 선택하고, 두 명이 공유하고 있는 빨래라는 가사노동의 행위를 묶는 매듭이 되었다. 박현진과 장우주는 수건에 저마다 중요하다고 생각했던/하는/하고자 하는 과거, 현재, 미래의 기념일을 새긴다. 둘은 각자의 색으로 수건을 물들이고, 서로가 공유하고 있는 과거, 현재의 기념일과 미래의 계획은 두 색으로 함께 날염한다.
84개의 수건 뒤편의 네 개의 손은 가사노동과 예술 활동 사이에서 교차하는 서로의 감정을 표현한다. 빨래에서 시작된 두 사람의 손 동작은 서로의 일상에서 서로이자 각자의 일상적인 행위들이 예술의 대화 방식으로 나아가기를 바라는 쌍무(雙舞)이다.
In 1,1 日,日 work, work, Hyunjin Park and Wooju Chang weave together their personal histories with the everyday life they share and household chores they perform, both as individual artists and partners.
In Korea, printed towels commemorating special days are typically used for keepsakes of events such as baby showers, weddings, and 70th birthdays, among other things. Not merely commodities, in Korean culture, towels become representative media interweaving the distinctive memories and the banality of doing laundry. Park and Chang made 84 towels printed with past, present, and future dates that refer to moments integral to their personal identities as individuals and artists, including trivial childhood memories, upcoming birthdays, future plans, etc. with yellow and blue dyes, representing Chang and Park respectively. At the same time, they welcomed their shared anniversary by dying some of the towels with both colors. In addition, viewers became participants, since they could choose and take away the towels as souvenirs.
